Welcome to Antioch's site on fasting. We've made this page to help you succeed! This site is designed to help you understand the purpose of fasting, explain food requirements, provide tasty recipes, and most importantly strengthen your spiritual walk with prayer and scripture. We have partnered with several restaurants that have meals that support the Daniel Fast. Daily devotionals and weekly messages have been strategically outlined by Pastor Jackson. A community forum has been created to allow members to share nutrition and wellness information, restaurants and recipes. We also encourage you to share how The Daniel Fast has touched your life.
Your goal in fasting is to develop a closer relationship with God by voluntarily denying your flesh. Fasting is a time of consecration from the things of the world to the things of God.
A prayer list will be located in the lobby and the weekly bulletin continually throughout the fast.
There are two anchoring scriptures for the Daniel Fast. In Daniel 1 the Prophet ate only vegetables (that would have included fruits) and drank only water. So from these scriptures we get two of the guidelines for the fast: Only fruits and vegetables.
Only water for a beverage Then in Daniel 10 we read that the Prophet ate no meat nor any precious breads or foods and he drank no wine for 21 days.
