CANADA
Canada cruised to a fifth straight win in Group B with a 5-0 victory over Denmark which increases their points total to 15 and ensures that they qualify for the knockout stages.
Canada centreman Sam Reinhart scored in the second period and final period and Mark Stone provided two assists during the 5-0 win over Denmark on Monday
Canada are the third highest scorers in the tournament with 33 goals and the top line of Mark Stone, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Jonathan Marchessault will be called upon to continue their high-level play against Team USA.
USA
USA came back from going one goal down in the first period to win 3-1 against Germany and clinch a fifth consecutive victory in Group B that increased their points tally to 15.
Jack Eichel scored USA’s second goal against Germany in the first period to take his World Championship goals total to two and eight points overall from the opening six games.
USA are safely through to the quarter-finals thanks in large part to 24 saves from New Jersey Devils goalie Cory Schneider against Germany, which was his best performance in the tournament.
